Hotel bedrooms

Hygiene is of the highest priority when you’re staying in a hotel. So when your guests arrive at their hotel bedroom, the last thing they want to see is that their bed, furniture or drapery have discolouration or old, set-in stains or watermarks. Luckily these stains are a thing of the past, because FibreGuard’s hotel fabrics are stain-repellant and easy-to-clean, making them the perfect fit for a clean hotel room!

Lobbies and Public Areas

Not only the fabrics in the hotel rooms should be clean and stain-free at all times, the lobbies and public areas also have upholstery fabrics that need to receive the required attention as well. Lobbies give the first impression of your hotel, and so are the perfect introduction into what your guests can expect. Since these places are the best spot to meet up for a drink or a small bite, they are even more prone to spills and stains: but don't worry, our fabrics have you covered.

Got a nice and cosy terrace as well? Our FibreGuard Outdoor fabrics will make sure your outdoor furniture or cushions can withstand any weather conditions and maintain their original form, just like the indoor fabrics.

Rental Homes

FibreGuard fabrics are perfect for vacation rentals because they stand up to the challenges these properties face, which is crucial because different guests come and go frequently. Their durability means they won't wear out quickly despite heavy use from multiple visitors. What makes them especially practical is how easy they are to clean - just ordinary white soap and a microfibre cloth will handle most stains without any special treatments.

This can help save you precious time and money on maintenance between guests.

Hospitality Fabrics: Frequently Asked Questions

Can FibreGuard withstand industrial cleaning agents or dry-cleaning processes?

FibreGuard’s fabrics can be cleaned with simple soap and water, and many are machine washable. Many collections of FibreGuard fabrics, and our sister brand FR-One’s Fire-Retardant Fabrics, are washable at 74° Celsius /160° Fahrenheit. This is a hot wash temperature cited as the American Hospital Washing Standard (AATCC-TM96).

FibreGuard fabrics are fully washable at a range of temperatures and methods. Our fabrics will retain their original dimension, aspect, stability, colour, and beauty, wash after wash. Please refer to fabric sample for recommended care instructions.

Does the fabric’s appearance maintain its luxurious look and feel, staying suitable for a premium interior?

Hospitality settings are sometimes the most challenging to keep clean and to maintain that look and feel over time. FibreGuard’s stain resistant fabrics will keep their luxurious look and feel over long periods of time, even in demanding settings.

We offer them in an extensive range of styles, colours, and textures - all of which perform to the same luxurious standard. Choose the right fabric to perfectly complement your aesthetic, creating welcoming, cohesive interiors that guests will love.

Do FibreGuard fabrics feel comfortable (not too stiff, not too smooth)?

FibreGuard fabrics are comfortable and soft, even with their high-performance, stain-resistant properties. Our goal is to offer the practicality of a contract-grade performance fabric without sacrificing the comfortable, natural feel you'd expect from quality home furnishings.

  • Not Stiff or Artificial: Unlike some older or other performance fabrics where the treatment might leave a stiff or rough feel, FibreGuard’s technology preserves the fabric's natural texture and drape.
  • Variety of Textures: We offer a wide range of fabrics, including textures like chenille and velvet, which are known for being particularly soft and luxurious, proving that "durable" doesn't have to mean "rough."
  • Breathable: Even the extra-protective FibreGuard Pro line (which includes a moisture barrier) is fully breathable and has a soft touch.

How much variety is there in colours, textures, and styles in FibreGuard fabrics?

Our core philosophy is to ensure that their high-performance, long-lasting fabrics can also perfectly match any interior design. The variety in colours, textures, and styles in FibreGuard fabrics is extensive and wide-ranging.

  • Variety in Design: We offer a vast selection of styles, ranging from solid plains and sophisticated velvets to highly textured weaves, bouclés, and intricate patterns (like the geometric and tapestry designs.
  • Variety in Texture: Our collections feature a range of tactile sensations, including brushed, wool-like touches, soft chenille, luxurious velvet, and linen-look fabrics.
  • Variety in Colour: The fabrics come in broad colour palettes. Individual collections often feature extensive colour lines. This ensures there is a colour and style to fit virtually any interior design project

Are these fabrics designed to protect against stains in hospitality settings specifically?

Yes, FibreGuard fabrics are specifically designed to protect against stains in hospitality settings, as well as other high-traffic commercial and residential environments. They're also designed to stand up to specific stains.

In the textiles lab, a total 19 different stains are applied to the fabric which must be removable under a range of different conditions. Think: greasy ketchup, gloopy mascara and of course, accidental spills such as coffee, wine, juice.

Here's a further breakdown of how we address hospitality needs:

  1. Targeted Use: in the Contract Market: Our contract fabrics are perfect for use in hotels, restaurants, bars, lobbies, and rental homes, all of which are demanding hospitality settings prone to frequent spills and heavy use.
  2. Stain Resistance: FibreGuard’s Stain Free Technology provides a permanent, easy-clean solution for the common spills found in these areas (e.g., coffee, wine, ink, and food). This helps to maintain a pristine appearance for guests.
  3. Durability and Longevity: The fabrics are engineered to withstand the rigors of commercial use and frequent cleaning without losing their stain-resistant properties, offering a long-term, cost-effective solution for hospitality businesses.

For the most demanding environments within hospitality (and healthcare), FibreGuard offers a specialised line called FibreGuard Pro. This range includes additional features ideal for commercial spaces:

  1. Moisture Barrier: It includes a unique, breathable moisture barrier that stops liquid spills from penetrating into the upholstery foam. This is crucial in hospitality to prevent mildew and bad odours from developing inside the furniture.
  2. Anti-microbial Protection: FibreGuard Pro is anti-microbial, which helps prevent the growth and spread of germs, bacteria, and mould, all of which are a major hygiene priority in public spaces like hotels and restaurants.
