Following the thread: FibreGuard's sustainability milestones in 2024

What happens when a fabric company puts sustainability first? You’re about to find out. Our 2024 metrics tell a story of innovation, determination, and real environmental impact.

While others in the textiles industry talk about incremental changes, we've committed to fundamental transformation: from the raw materials we select, to our production processes, right through to how our products reach our customers.

This isn't about following trends or meeting minimum requirements. It's about setting new standards for what sustainable fabric production can achieve. As we share our 2024 achievements, we're not just presenting numbers – we're showcasing a blueprint for how premium textiles manufacturing can thrive while prioritising environmental responsibility. This is part two in our sustainability series. Catch up with part one: FibreGuard's In-House Sustainability Road-Map: Small Battles.

Redefining Eco-Innovation in Fabrics

By 2024, we've achieved a remarkable 94% eco-composition in our new furnishing fabric collections, focusing on sustainable and recycled materials that minimise environmental impact. This isn't just about using recycled polyester (which we do) or selecting organic fibres (which we also do) – it's about completely re-imagining how sustainable fabric can perform.

By 2025, we'll hit 100%, with every new collection containing at least 50% eco-friendly materials.

Beyond Materials: A Holistic Approach

Our commitment to sustainability extends through every aspect of production. Here's the highlights:

  1. Leading with Eco-Innovation. By 2024, we've achieved a remarkable 94% eco composition in our new furnishing fabric collections. But we're not stopping there – 2025 will see us hit 100%, with every new collection containing at least 50% eco-friendly materials.
  2. The total CO₂ Footprint Across All Our Operations Is Down By 10%. Our dedication to energy efficiency has yielded impressive results – we've cut our total CO₂ footprint by 10% between 2022 and 2023, encompassing all production energy costs. This achievement comes from methodical changes across our entire operation, from energy-efficient machinery to optimized supply chain routes.
  3. Plastic-Free Packaging Solutions. Every roll of our high-performance fabric now travels the world in FSC-certified cardboard and recycled plastics. We've eliminated virgin plastic from our packaging chain, proving that premium protection doesn't require new resources.

Meeting the Market's Moment: Real Impact For Real People

Today's design professionals and homeowners are more environmentally conscious than ever – but they're also unwilling to compromise on style and performance. It's not enough for fabrics to simply be 'green' anymore; they need to be gorgeous, durable, and sustainable. At FibreGuard, we're not asking our customers to choose between their values and their vision.

Here's what our commitment to sustainability means to you:

Materials That Make a Difference

When you specify FibreGuard fabrics, you're choosing materials that tread lightly on the planet. From recycled polyester to responsibly sourced fibres, every thread is selected with environmental impact in mind.

Smart Resource Management

Our innovative production processes aren't just about the product – they're about using less to achieve more. Through advanced water recycling systems and energy-efficient manufacturing, we're creating beautiful fabrics while conserving precious resources.

Clean Chemistry

We believe that high performance shouldn't come at a high environmental cost. By eliminating harmful chemicals from our production process, we're protecting not just the environment, but also your health and well-being. Our fabrics prove that exceptional stain resistance and durability can be achieved without compromising environmental responsibility.

Packaging with Purpose

Your fabric's journey to you matters just as much as the fabric itself. Our plastic-free packaging solutions and FSC-certified materials ensure that every FibreGuard fabric arrives safely while supporting the circular economy. We've eliminated virgin plastic entirely, proving that luxury delivery doesn't require new resources.

The Performance Promise

Here's where we truly stand apart: all these eco-friendly innovations come without compromising our legendary performance standards. Our fabrics still meet and exceed industry standards for durability, stain resistance, and colour fastness.

It's not just about being green – it's about being great

These achievements are milestones, not endpoints. As we push toward our 2025 goals, we're already exploring new ways to reduce our environmental impact while setting new industry standards for sustainable fabric production.
