Case study: FibreGuard fabrics in a beacon of luxurious living

The Leonardo is the ultimate residential, conferencing and lifestyle location on the African continent, with a collection of bespoke restaurant and entertainment offerings as well as a conference centre, suites and apartments, and a lavish spa.

World-renowned interior designer Stephen Falcke specified FibreGuard contract fabrics (through Home Fabrics) for the apartment suites in this luxury lifestyle destination showcased in the tallest building in Africa.

A beacon of hope in the heart of Africa's richest square mile. The Leonardo provides an opportunity to live, work and play amongst the hustle and bustle Sandton has to offer. Wine, dine, meet, work, relax or move in.

The project

The Leonardo is a 55-floor mixed-use property development in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. It boasts 232 residences, 8 luxury penthouse suites and the three-level, 360-degree panorama Leonardo Suite.

Where do you get your inspiration from? ---- “It’s from things that are free; I love the sun, water, sand.” - Stephen Falcke

Designed by South African architectural, interior and urban design firm Co-Arc, the team of architects that managed the construction was mostly female-led, with nine of the 11 positions performed by women.

The FibreGuard solution

FibreGuard fabrics can be found on dining chairs, ottomans, upholstered headboards, boardroom chairs, and even in the wellness-spa.
