PROUD TO BE OEKO-TEX® CERTIFIED – SAFE FOR BOTH HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT
At FibreGuard, we are committed to supplying top quality interior furnishing fabrics. We also believe that an important part of that quality lies in products that are ecologically safe. That is why you will see the international Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 label on all our fabrics.
To become a certified ecological product you need an independent testing and certification system. The Oeko-Tex® standard is the international safety standard that is used all over the textile industry to guarantee safety and sustainability.
===Consumer health is paramount for FibreGuard. Textiles with the Oeko-Tex® ecolabel are tested for a long list of damaging components. There are more than 100 parameters that a yarn or textile has to comply with before it receives the Oeko-Tex® label. All tests are done in certified laboratories and go beyond the requirements that are in place in most countries.
The label does not only refer to the finished product but also to the process of making it. With this label you are able to track down and check all parts of the production process along the textile value chain. When you see a fabric with the Oeko-tex® label you are sure the fabric is free from harmful substances and also safe for both human health and the environment.
The Oeko-Tex® label was introduced in 1992 to show consumers which products have undergone extensive laboratory testing for harmful substances. The label is governed by the International Oeko-Tex® Association, who is controlling the use of the label. This happens in 16 different textile research institutes and more than 60 contact offices all over the world. When you buy a product with the Oekotex® label you know it is safe for you.
The International Oeko-Tex® Association has developed three certification schemes for textiles and for textile production sites: the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 refers to chemically safe textiles, the Sustainable Textile Production certificate is created for the places where textile is produced and the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 plus is a combination of the two.
We believe in environmentally safe products, that is why all FibreGuard products are certified with the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 label.
